In our "Let's Play" project, our students have been mixed with other Kinders from other classes and have had an opportunity to work with all Kindergarten teachers. Last week marked our last rotation before our "Let's Play" Exhibition. In this last rotation, my project group with work with mindfulness on the playground and characteristics of a good friend. Ms. Cate's group will develop norms for our water tables and Ms. Andrea's group will create the final prototypes for our Kinder playhouse. The Kinders will be showcasing their learning at our last Kindergarten Exhibition on Tuesday, June 4 from 4:00-5:00. During this Exhibition, we have invited incoming Kindergarten students and their families. Our current Kinder students will use this time to demonstrate to our incoming Kinders how to use our playground safely. They will go over all of our norms as well teach them a variety of playground games. Our "Let's Play Exhibition" schedule is as follows:

Hello Wonderful Kinder Families! Firstly, thank you for your patience with our classroom blog! We are an incredibly busy bunch and I am so excited to share our learning so far! We have had a fabulous month back into school and it is so very exciting to see the growth your beautiful children have made! Like I have shared in emails, they are beginning to problem solve independently, read more difficult books, work with more sophisticated math concepts, and speak about their project work with confidence. It truly is one of my favorite times of the year! Here are some of the highlights of Room 143: Experiential Learning: Field Work at the San Diego Natural History Museum Building Mathematical Concepts: Measurement and Geometry Strengthening Literacy Skills: "I am a Reader! I am an Author!" Project Work: "Let's Play!" Essential Question: How do we maximize fun and safety on our playground? Check out a sneak peek of our Playground Instructional Video. Kindergartners model how to use to use the slide safely: Feet first, one person down the slide at a time. To another SUPER week in Kindergarten!! With Love and In Gratitude, Mrs. Rosemarie P.S. Thank you for your continued support this year. I am so honored to be your child's Kindergarten teacher. |
