We have had another couple weeks of awesome learning in Kindergarten! Firstly, a VERY big thank you to the families I have visited with these last few weeks. It has been so wonderful engaging with your family in your beautiful homes. Through this first round of home visits, I have had beyblade competitions, learned about superheroes, painted nails, had breakfast, connected as Mothers, played games, ate pumpkin seeds, and drank LOTS of coffee! Thank you again for welcoming me. I am treasuring every moment! Here are some highlights of these last two weeks: We created our own diagrams of a butterfly's anatomy. We even created our own set of butterfly wings to anchor the concept of symmetry found in nature! We are using our emerging literacy skills to... Write across the content areas. Here is an example of a math journal entry and a reflection of our project work. We are continuing to build our K8 community through collaboration. Last week, we had middle school friends present a puppet show geared specifically towards our class. The moral of the story: It is important to be an active listener in class. We also visited the Middle School's Dia de lost Muertos Project Exhibition. Last, but definitely not least, we had an AMAZING Fall Festival--made possible by ALL OF YOU! Thank you to my families for your gracious donations of food, materials, and pumpkins. Thank you for leading a carving/counting station, serving food, and helping clean up. Thank you for leading crafts and for ensuring that ALL of our Kinders had a fun, enriching, and safe experience! You all ROCK!
To another magical week of learning, Mrs. Rosemarie
